Brussels is having an increasingly important part to play in
shaping Members State legislation around credit and retail financial
services. While organisations need to be close to legislators and regulators

to start at a European level. Eric Ducoulombier, Head of Unit, Internal
Market and Services DG, gives the Commission’s perspective on strategic
‘high impact’ and highly topical issues affecting the financial services
sector in the UK and other EU Members States, including mortgages, consumer
credit, retail financial services, competition.
